  • Since 2012, Our House has been helping the community who are travelling to Lismore for medical treatment.  After six years and 6000 guests Our House needs to replace some of the original equipment to ensure Our House stays beautiful for years to come. To start the up keep, items like the microwave and the dining chairs which have had much use are in to need of replacement.This equipment will cost $10,000. Our House is looking for 20 people, businesses or service clubs who would like to contribute $500 per room to help purchase these much needed items. To kick start Brad Gosling from Betta Electrical has organized their suppliers to get the best price for 20 microwaves so that the Our House guests are well looked after.

  • Bowelscan will continue saving lives at Our House. For thirty-six years Rotarians have been saving lives through the Bowelscan project. Now with the Federal Government has introduced a targeted screening program across Australia. The National Bowelscan Committee have decided to wind up the Rotary project and find a home for $44,800 which was the surplus funds raised throughout the years. Bowelscan was set up as an awareness program by Rotary Club of Lismore member and local Surgeon Dr Bill Brand. Dr Brand perceived a real need for people to be made aware of the implications of colo rectal cancer. Rotarians Lionel Phelps and Ted Roberts, the Rotary Club of Lismore took on Dr Bill’s initiative and the project was born and given the name “Bowelscan”.The purpose built accommodation Our House, for those receiving treatment have been chosen to be recipient of the funds from Bowelscan. Pictured is Dr Chris Ingall, Chair of Our House and Lionel Phelps one of the founders of the bowelscan project along with the original Rotarians who volunteered with the project.

  • Sanctuary Village Residents in Lennox Head have been busy putting their Christmas decoration away from their Spectacular display over Christmas. Each year the residents don Christmas cheer and decorate their homes and raise funds for local charities. Over the past years, the 84 houses in the village have ‘lit up’ to raise funds for many local charities. Over $12,000 has been raised for these charities including the Ballina Hospital Auxiliary, Biala, Rural Fire Brigade, Lismore Lennox Surf Club and more recently Our House.

  • At the recent Lismore Workers Golf Fishing Club Day which is held annually in memory of Tom Sommerville, the funds raised on the day were donated to Our House to assist those guests who are unable to finance their stay. Huge thanks to the Lismore Fishing Club Golfers for their ongoing support. Each the annual Golf day raises $2,000.
